Tools you will need
- A small round tube of some sort (toothpick or thin paint brush handle)
- Scissors
* If you have beading tools, you can also use needle-nose pliers and wire snips.
Body
1. Take a wire and cut it in 1/2. Set aside one of them for later.
2. Fold wire so it is 3 equal parts. Cut off one of the parts. Leave the other two folded.
3. Put the short wire through the striped ball and the black roundel. Add a small loop to the one end to secure.
4. Wrap the long/folded wire so it forms a small loop in the center.
5. Bend the looped wire in half so the loop in on one end and the two loose wires are together.
6. String the 2 wires onto the striped bead and rndl, Make sure the loop is threaded onto the short wire.
7. Thread the small bead on to the end of the short wire and secure with a small loop.
You now have secured the large wire with the loop between the small bead & the large striped bead.
The other side is secured with the loop from the short wire & has the 2 loose wires.
Body should have some wiggle room.
Legs
8. Take your second piece of wire and cut in 1/2. Take one of them and cut in 1/2 again. You should have 2 short and 1 long pieces.
9. Take the two short pieces of wire and wrap them from the middle around the 3 wires of the bee body. This should be between the large rndl bead and the striped bead.
10. Bend all 4 wires to one side. Place seed beads on each wire and secure with a loop on each end.
Wings
11. Fold your remaining long piece of wire in half. Wrap the wire from the center around the same 3 core wires to secure. Make sure there is a single piece on each side.
12. Each wing should have 2 holes. Keep it folded in half and thread the wire through each hole. The wing should be on one side with the wire above.
Repeat for the second wing.
13. Wrap the wires around the body/core again to secure, then twist them together. Make a loop out of the twisted wire between the 2 wings to secure.
14. Make a loop on each of the 2 remaining wires from the large rndl. for antenne.
Yay! You now have a fluffy, friendly bumblebee!
Tip
If the body is still a bit loose, tighten the loops at the head and tail.
