One stormy night a boat with all of it's crew was about to be lost at sea. A mermaid, who was in love with one of the sailors, used her powers to calm the wind and waves. Neptune imprisoned her forever to the depths of the ocean for doing so. Her tears for her lost love travel to the shore in the form of iridescent pearls and sea glass.
