Let's get started making this DIY layering necklace: First, you'll need to prep the leather tassel for jewelry making.You can use this leather tassel alone or wrap some pieces of chain reaction in it with 20g. wire. Here's how: Open a jump ring and connect a short piece of chain, tassel and short piece of chain and close it around the pendant ring. Bundle all of these elements together with a few wraps of 20g. wire. Cut four short pieces of chain--three inches approximately so they are all even. Connect the four pieces of chain to the pendant with a jump ring. Connect two pieces of chain with a jump ring on both sides. String an assortment of Jesse James Beads onto 19 strand, .018 beading wire and secure to one of the jump rings with a #2 crimp bead. Cut the remaining chain in half and connect the toggle clasp to each end of chain. Crimp the beads to the opposite end of chain. If you want a shorter necklace, adjust the chain length.
