Hello! My name is Monica Dockery, but I am known online as Sparkle by Monica. I am a handmade entrepreneur, freelance teaching artist, administrative professional, wife, cat mom and newbie gardener on a 15-acre farm in Kentucky. I love to share my artistic skills while spreading the sparkles of happiness.
I’ve always been a crafty gal and find that is the best way to communicate my passion for helping others to feel sparkle-tastic. I also contribute my creations to various awareness causes that are dear to my heart because I recognize the sadness in the world and feel that everyone should experience a little sparkly joy. I enjoy creating themed designs with an extra “touch of sparkle” and the delightful feedback that I receive inspires me to continue helping others shine.
I was a hobbyist in Tennessee, but decided to transition to a business after moving out west to Arizona. After completing my business degree and moving to Texas, I was able to pursue full-time teaching opportunities and began making online video tutorials of my jewelry designs, candy bouquets, craft product hauls and reviews. I never dreamed that what began as needing party favors back in 2010 would lead me on the sparkly path that ultimately helped me to achieve more confidence in public speaking, developing digital graphics skills, and making such fabulous creative friends that I now refer to as my Sparkle Squad.
I've absolutely LOVED Jesse James Beads ever since I began making jewelry! One of my bracelets that got featured in a coffee table book was made using Jesse James Beads. (See my blog post here). I get repeat sparkly shoppers that specifically love the boho-chic look of the chunky style designs by Jesse James Beads and I love the diversity of color and shimmer!
