Anatomy Of Jump Rings

Anatomy Of Jump Rings

Learn how to properly open and close jump rings for jewelry designing! Opening and closing jump rings is a must-have skill to help customise your necklaces, bracelets, and more.

To open your jump ring, always twist the ring open; never pull the pieces apart. Pulling them apart effects the strength of your ring and could mean that your attachments will fall off or the jump ring will break. It all starts with a good strong jump ring!

What You'll Need:

Your Bracelet or Necklace Blank
Your Charm, Pendant, or other focal piece
Jump Rings (we use 6 mm here)
Two Pairs of Jewelry Making Pliers (we recommend chain nose or flat nose pliers for beginners.)
